We love beards and we admire bearded men, that put time and effort in, to make it look stunning. This month, we want to introduce you to another great beard that visited Mo Bro’s.
Mo Bro’s beard of April is a 32 year old builder from Leicester, Tim Smith. If we had to describe Tim in few words, we would say warm and hardworking. Even though he is just in his thirties, he already has 17 years of working experience. Tim started working when he was 12 and has been self-employed since turning 18. He loves his job and says that the best part about being a builder is that you get to be outside for most of the time.
Interesting fact: Tim used to play rugby and he loves tattoos. He got his first tattoo when he was 16 and now he lost count of them.
How did you decide to become a builder?
I’ve always had a thing for building houses. My dad is a builder and ever since I was a little child, I wanted to be a builder too.
Tim and the Beard
What is the reason for growing a beard and how long have you had it?
I have been growing my beard since way before the fashion started. About 5 years ago I decided to let my facial hair grow and never shaved again.
What beard products do you use?
I use beard balm, beard oil and moustache wax. Beard balm is my favourite product, since my hair is light, it gives it a bit of a fixture.
I’ve started using beard products when my facial hair started getting longer and less manageable. I love it because it makes my beard softer and tames it. I can see a big difference when I stop using the products. My beard dries out very quickly, especially in my workplace, because I’m around dust all the time.
What tips would you give for other bearded fellas?
Just let it grow to start with and then worry about trimming or styling it. When it comes to grooming, for anything shorter than an inch, all you need is beard oil. However, if your beard is longer than that, I would recommend start using balm as well. Oh, and never shave it!
What do you think makes a quality beard?
Thickness and length.
What is your greatest fear and have you conquered it?
My biggest fear is to gain weight again. Over the last year I have lost 3.5 stone and it is very easy to gain weight again.
